Excited for this year’s Halloween but dreading the pumpkin part? Then fear not trick or treaters, this year’s spooky style is all about paint. So, drop the carving knife, grab your paint and follow this how to on creating glam, pastel pumpkins perfect for styling any home this Halloween.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Spray Paint
  • Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Paint
  • Rust-Oleum Glitter Paint
  • Clean cloth
  • Paint Stirrer
  • Pumpkins

1. PREPARE IT

With a cloth and some warm water, give your pumpkins a good thorough clean to make sure they are free of dirt, dust or anything that could effect applying your paint.  Allow your pumpkins to fully dry before moving onto the next step.

2. PAINT IT

Paint the top half of your pumpkin with Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Paint (We used the colour duck egg). Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Paint is perfect for small arts and crafts as this water based paint sticks to almost any surface, has virtually no odour and comes in 24 shades! Once done, place your pumpkin to one side while it dries.

3. SPRAY IT

Place your next pumpkin on a spare piece of newspaper (this will protect your surface from any paint fallout). Ensure your working in a well ventilated area and start spraying half of your pumpkin with Chalky Furniture Spray Paint, lightly misting the bottom half to create an ombre effect. We used the colour China Rose. Leave this to dry.

4. DECORATE IT

Lastly decorate your pumpkins by adding some sparkle using Rust-Oleum Glitter Paint. Simply apply the glitter glaze over any pre-painted surface to provide instant coverage and full megawatt sparkle. We added a glitter frosting to ours, but feel free to get creative - create a polka dots, stripes, your own design or just cover the whole pumpkin!

And your done! Display your pumpkins with pride and don't forget to have a wicked halloween!
