Ready to get comfy in front of a twinkling Christmas tree with a cup of hot chocolate in hand? Make the whole scene festive by creating your own Christmas coasters. Perfect to create alone or fun for all the family, these gorgeous coasters will add some festive décor to your home or can be given as a gift for family or friends.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Rust-Oleum Painters Touch brush paint in your choice of colours
- Rust-Oleum Ultra/Medium Glitter in your choice of colours
- Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Spray Paint
- Wooden Coasters
- Paint brushes
- Stencil decorations (or you can draw free hand!)
- Metallic pens
- String (to tie together for a gift)
- Covering for your work surface (we used cardboard!)
1. PREPARE YOUR SURFACE
Make sure your working surface is well covered and protected - use a sheet or anything you have to hand - we used cardboard!
2. PAINT YOUR COASTERS
Open your Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Brush Paint in the colour of your choice and paint the surface of your coasters. You may also want to paint the edges or you can use a sharpie to fill these in. Once done, leave to fully dry.
For the full Christmas effect you may want to paint both sides - if so, ensure the first side is dry before turning over to paint the other side.
3. ADD THE GLITTER
Once your coaster is dry, open your Rust-Oleum Shimmer Glitter in the colour of your choice and apply to the coaster. Depending on your preference you may want to flick the glitter on using a brush for a more subtle glitter effect or you can brush the glitter on for full megawatt sparkle.
Once done, leave to fully dry.
4. ADD YOUR DECORATIONS
Use your stencils to draw on your coasters with the metallic pens. If you have the artistic talent - why not go free hand and let your creativity run wild.
Once completed, leave to dry for 10 minutes.
5. SPRAY IT
Seal, protect and enhance your design by spraying it with the Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Spray Paint. This will give your coaster a long lasting finish.
6. GIFT IT
If you are planning on gifting your creations to family or a friend consider tying some string around a set of 4 to complete the look. For a little extra sparkle you can paint your string using your Rust-Oleum Glitter Paint.
