Useful Information

Our Epoxy Floor Paint is a two-part paint that is supplied as a tin of resin and a tin of curing agent – and you mix the content of both tins together. Once you start mixing the two, it starts a reaction that causes the product to cure.

This means you can’t use a single 5L tin for two coats. Here’s why:

Whilst a 5L tin will cover 30m2 with one coat, even if you only have a 15m2 area to paint, you can’t use half the 5L tin for the first coat – and then once dry, the other half for the second coat. That’s because the paint will have gone off in the tin. That’s why our Epoxy Floor Paint is available in a 2.5L tin too. A 2.5L tin will cover 15m2 with one coat, so if you want to apply two coats to an area of up to 15m2, you’d need to buy two 2.5L tins.

Of course, you can use a combination of 5L (30m2) and 2.5L (15m2) tins for an area which isn’t a multiple of 30m2 and which needs more than one coat.

  • Example
  • Area to be painted: 45m2 with two coats
  • Tins needed: 2 x 5L and 2 x 2.5L
  • Why: Use 1 x 5L and 1 x 2.5L for the first coat; and the same again for the second

But don’t worry, we know it can be confusing – and that’s why our Coverage Calculator works out how much you’ll need. You can be sure you’re buying the exactly the amount of paint you need without any unnecessary waste.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • This hard-wearing paint was originally developed – and tried, tested and trusted – for industry. This formula developed for the home is ideal for use in garages or other concrete floors
  • Very little preparation needed – just make sure the surface is clean, grease and flake free
  • Apply over an existing floor paint (or even a surface with underfloor heating) to save time
  • It’s a two-pack epoxy resin, which means tough. Simply mix the two parts of the pack together (it’s really easy) and paint on with a roller, infilling hard-to-reach areas with a brush
  • Easy to clean – wipe off any oil stains, dirt or tyre marks
