QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • A: Hi John,

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately we would not recommend using a varnish over our coating. A varnish requires a level of porosity so it can soak in and bind to the surface, in fact it is deigned to mostly penetrate the surface and seal the top of whatever it is applied to. If the surface is coated with our Firmtread Anti Slip Deck Coating it would not allow the varnish to penetrate the surface below.

I am sorry. Do let us know if we can help further.

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

  • A: Hi, unfortunately due to the aggregate additive used to create the anti-slip surface I am afraid it would not be suitable to be sprayed.

  • A: Yes, you can paint over old paint – it would need to be clean and dry and well bonded – so worth going over with a wire brush and cleaning with Deck Clean https://www.paintpeople.co.uk/products/deck-clean?_pos=1&_sid=71e877d82&_ss=r, and allowing to dry before painting over.
